SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS
ORGANIC GROWERS CLUB
President
The Organic Growers Club was established as a way for members of the Santa Fe College community to gain experience growing naturally sustainable produce.

Members build a variety of skills i.e. irrigation design and assembly, propagation, seed harvesting, etc...

The club currently manages 300+ produce plants, a pollinator garden, a sprout garden and 2x propagating systems, all connected to a 4 zone drip irrigation system.
All produce is grown organically and sustainably in co-operation with the Campus Compost Project. Additionally, harvested produce is donated back to the Santa Fe Community via the Santa Fe foodbank and free giveaways.

CAMPUS COMPOST PROJECT
Co-founder
The Campus Compost Project has partnered with the Santa Fe teaching zoo, Subway, La Fortuna, Coffee 101 and Krishna Lunch to turn the biodegradable food waste of Santa Fe into usable materials.

Team members make daily food waste pickups from our project partners, before processing the materials through a BSF larvae composting system.
The project has recently expanded to incorporate paper waste through a red worm composting system and styrofoam waste through a mealworm composting system.
PROJECT SAINT HORTICULTURE/AGRICULTURE PROGRAM
Mentor
The Project SAINT horticulture program is a job readiness program for those with disabilities. Students learn horticulture skills through in-class sessions and hands-on work.
Students spend the semester growing and maintaining an inventory of plants, that are eventually sold at student-organized plant sales. All proceeds are divided evenly among the program's students.
